In Whangamatā we are lucky that we have funding for free sexual health consultations for under 25 year olds.
NOTE: repeat prescriptions are not covered under this funding and and will incur a $20.00 fee.

Our nurses and doctors are all trained in:

• contraceptive matters,
• taking smears
• treating STIs.
• inserting IUCDs (intra-uterine contraception device)
• hormonal contraceptive implants (Jadelle) .

We also strongly recommend the GARDISIL 9 immunisation against the human papilloma virus (HPV). HPV can cause cervical cancer and if young people are immunised before they become sexually active we can minimize the risk of developing this cancer. The GARDISIL9 (HPV) immunisation is available for ages 9-45 years. Those aged between 9 and 26 (inclusive) can recieve this vaccine free of charge. A fee  applied for those aged 27 – 45, please speak to reception for pricing.
